Hermit Tunes Episode 4
This episode of Hermit Tunes features early soul, doo-wop and pop music. The first half is all girl groups and lady vocalists, and the rest continues the soul vibe. All this music was recorded in the late 50s through the 60s. I love this era of music and am very proud of this show. Enjoy!

Welcome to 2011!
2010 was a pretty shitty year. I'm tired of hearing about the dumpy economy, sluggish job rates and end of the world.
We saw no records released on Out of Order last year, and sorry about that! It's been hard scrounging the money together to put something out, and that may change this year, we'll see.
Thanks for sticking around to check on the blog. Only 7 blog posts for last year...yikes! If I'm not putting out records, I might as well be nerding out about music as I'm not reviewing music like I had been doing for Midtown Monthly a while back. I'll try and make that happen more.
Anyways, the Green Green 7" is still available and getting low, so if you haven't purchased it yet, the paypal button is on the right. If you're in the shopping mood, check out my Etsy Store for 1" buttons, prints and other arty stuff. I also make custom buttons if you're in need.

Paul Collins Beat, Music Fest!
PAUL COLLINS BEAT
70s power pop awesomeness
@ The Hub (Sacto, CA)
8:30 door/9pm showtime
$7
You've heard "Walking out on Love", "Hanging on the Telephone" (Blondie covered it, but PCB wrote the ORIGINAL!), and "Rocknroll Girl" on all those awesome power pop comps and reissues, but now catch the band live. Word on the street is they still put on an amazing show! They are playing in Sacramento at the Hub with a couple of locals thrown in for good measure.

If you've missed all of these so far, you're either crazy or not from around here. KDVS throws about 2 of these awesome fests per year. There's usually something for everyone at these. Full line up is below, but my recommendations are Wounded Lion, Mattress, Fresh and Onlys and Greg Ashley. Bring extra cash for suburb burgers (veggies options available!) and cold cheap beer.
