As you know, I have my own zine, blog, I volunteer & DJ at KDVS Radio, AND I've started writing for Midtown Monthly, a free magazine in Sacramento, California. There's now another outlet for me to promote your music, and geek out. If you're looking to get your music on the radio/reviewed in local press and online, please send me promos and copies of your records! I'm a music fanatic, as I'm sure you know and I'm looking for more music to review.
I recommend sending 2 copies- one for KDVS radio to add to the library and one for me to review and write about. If you can't afford that, no big deal.

Finally! Some Record Reviews!
Taking a break from writing a research paper, and finally, here's some record reviews I've been promising. I've got more coming, hopefully this weekend. It's boiling here in California, I hope YOU are well, where-ever you are.
ALSO- there are some great shows happening, including, July 29th: the Lamps, Haunted George, Cheap Time and the Pizzas at Delta of Venus, in Davis. Updates & Recommendations + Bob Burns and the Breakups TONIGHT!
Hey guys-
Sorry, I'm behind on reviews! I've got a nice stack-o-wax to review. I recently started a free-lance writing gig, as well as my regular job, radio show, heading back to school, etc...you know the drill. I'll do my best to get stuff up ASAP! Seriously, so many great records have recently come out, including the Black Time/Husbands split 7" on Show & Tell, New Los Llamarada LP on S-S, new rad stuff on Plastic Idol including Imaginary Icons, Hank IV and Retainers, and TONS more. You should be seeing some reviews soon, I promise!

Hey all, please help support KDVS Radio! This station has shaped who I am today, my music tastes and probably contributed to my insanity, but seriously, they are a great station, with an awesome mission. They are a non-profit, free form radio station mainly volunteer run. They serve the Davis-Sacramento area, and world-wide with their internet presence, audio streams and superb music, news and public affairs programming.
For $25 as a student (or low-income), $40 as a community member, you support a rad station, you make a TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation and can snag an awesome premium package with music, get a great book, t-shirt, gift certificate, etc.
For larger donations, you receive grander thank you gifts from KDVS.
Bands: For $150 you get 4 hours of Studio time with a KDVS engineer to record your demo/record/single, etc.
For $100 you can host your own 1-hour radio program! You'll be assisted to play your choice of music that will be broadcasted LIVE on KDVS! Also for $100 you can have the KDVS Mobile DJ unit DJ your dance party, wedding, birthday, etc.
There are TONS of great reasons why you should donate, and so many great thank you gifts, so why not help out KDVS Radio? Free Form Radio is a dying breed, and without your support KDVS will just be another name on a tombstone.

Just spent an exciting weekend with the Trashies, as they put on an AWESOME performance at the DAM House on Saturday and then crashed at my house for the rest of the weekend because of problems with their van. Check out some pics here. They were wonderful house guests, so please house them if they ever break down in your town! Also, please draw maps for near-by pools.

Ohsees (OCS) on Saturday Night!
Hands down the show of the year so far...I've really been looking forward to this one. I saw the Ohsees play last Spring. They feature John Dwyer (Coachwhips, Pink & Brown...) and is more of a raw, stripped form of music, taking a slower pace, with errie lyrics, darker themes and sly melodies.I'm in love with the Ohsees since that Spring performance when the days were longer, warmer and not so hectic. Is it my nostalgia for Spring, or am I still in awe of this band? I believe it's both, so don't miss it. Supporting acts include are the Ski Instructors (feat. members of the Bananas, Nar, FM Knives, Bright Ideas & more!) and Restaurant, somewhat of a mystery band.
This takes place at Fools Foundation at 10pm on Saturday, February 24th.
